For our second editing assignment we explored the many different possibilities of photo retouching in Gimp. We took Noelle Jacob's auto show picture and transformed it into something you might see in a magazine.

Photo One - Nature















For the first photo assignment I chose nature. After a somewhat-awkward laying on shells at the beach, and several weird looks, I decided that this would be my best picture. I like the different perspective the photo gives compared your average beach picture.

Pop Art


Today we edited our first photo using Gimp. The purpose of this assignment was to learn about and become more familiar with the program. In order to do this, we made an Andy Warhol/"Pop Art" style picture.

Composition Assignment

Purpose? Explore the eleven different elements of composition. While doing so, become more familiar with your camera.

What I Learned: These eleven different elements, although they may sound simple, actually make a big difference when applied to your photographs.

Perspective: Trees.
Symmetry: School Hallway.
Lines: Fence.
Balance: Two-toned Tree.
Rule of Thirds: Leaf.
Pattern: Striped Converse Shoes.
Depth of Field: Hallway Carpet.
Color: Flower & Leaves.
Framing: Girl w/ Frame.
Space: Flower & Vase.
Texture: Tree Bark.
